Glimpse

A series of photographs created in 2022 as a continuation of the work "I Think I Remember", an audio-video installation dealing with research into memory, starting from the question of whether true memory really exists. Chantal Akerman believed that we should talk about our memories as if they were our own imaginary truth, foregrounding their deceptive yet constitutive nature.

Thinking about memories, as the human ability to remember past experiences and events, there always seemed to be some sort of slippage in the image, an interstitial space, between what is actually real and what we perceive as such. Using photos from family albums as well as my own diary photos, and intervening on them, this series is an attempt to partially return those memories from their physical form to my imaginary image that slips away, changes and is never completely clear, but rather a blurred representation of what we wear, feel and what we see as a flash or dream.

Of Waiting

Of Waiting is a series of photos made in 2014 that follows the youth subculture on the island of Pag. In addition, it is a record of a time and a generation living outside of established frameworks, of the transience of time, of youth, as well as a reflection of my own preoccupation with photography.

I spent a long summer observing a generation whose life and thoughts were completely alien to me, gaining their trust until they allowed me to photograph them. In the process, I stepped out of my comfort zone and, photographing the island subculture, reversed the monotony of island life I felt at the time.

Of Waiting is a series about waiting for a photograph, waiting for the summer to end.

SHIFT

SHIFT is a constantly updated series of photographs created over a long period of time.

The work deals with the deconstruction and decontextualization of images from existing materials, such as found photos from magazines or own photos, that become something else and shift their original context by means of various interventions.

By researching and applying different techniques to a photograph that already has a given form, such as subtracting or adding, hiding or highlighting, changing colour or making small interventions, etc., I am interested in the transformation and the journey that the image undergoes and all its possible alternatives.
