Kvartovski objektiv

Kvartovski objektiv is a project focused on exploring the Črnomerec district. The goal of this multidisciplinary project is to recognize and shape the contents of the city, to positively influence the meaning of preserved historical, emotional, and other images, in order to encourage a positive shift in how we relate to the space that surrounds us. This methodological developmental model operates on the principles of inclusivity and sustainability. Program activities are designed for diverse users, regardless of origin, social status, education, generational, or other forms of belonging. The contents are open to critical re-examinations and initiatives that arise from direct communication with the local community. In this way, users are enabled to express their views on problems and their causes through cultural content, while the creation and proposal of new content actively involve them in dialogue about current neighborhood and city issues such as urban planning, development, environment, diversity, marginalization, and cultural production. The program’s contents are accessible and free of charge for all users. It promotes positive social change and the principles of do-it-yourself culture, the adoption of cultural habits, and highlights the need for reflection and participation in cultural activities with the aim of cultivating new generations of users. Through the selection of themes and content as well as a wide range of programs, it is directed both towards young people and the often overlooked older population. The program encourages the adoption of cultural habits, not counting on passive spectators who merely observe content, but on active participants.
The project includes a variety of activities such as exhibitions (Fragmenting the Neighborhood, Sound Photo of Črnomerec), thematic walks (Črnomerec – Industrial Architecture), artistic interventions, sound research, and an anonymous questionnaire for collecting stories and memories related to the sounds of the district. All details are available on the project’s website.
