The exhibition Expanded Photographywas part of the international project Forgotten Heritage – European Avant-garde Art Online.

Basic structures of photography and film, and their inter-relationship in the context of time and movement, is the topic of the exhibition’s second segment. The works by Tomislav Gotovac (1937 – 2010) offer a radical analysis of the medium of film and its postulates – cinematic language, grammar, morphology and syntax. Documenting the temporal process is in the focus of Marijan Molnar’s (1951) works, made in the second half of the 1970s. Ivan Faktor (1953) consistently explores the qualitative and (meta)physical traits of the media of film and photography, approaching them as autonomous systems with their own hermetic and often abstract visual language.
